A Century of Cinema Comes Alive
For Columbia Pictures’ 100th anniversary, Sony Pictures partnered with WATSON.LA and EXO APE to create a captivating digital experience and quiz. This interactive journey took fans not only through entertainment history, but also on a path of self-discovery, helping them rediscover the films and television shows that have shaped them the most.
A Dynamic, Personalized Experience
To ensure a unique experience for every visitor, a strategic backend system was developed. This system kept the journey fresh and varied, no matter how many times users returned. Combined with a diverse range of visuals and questions, this approach guaranteed a consistently entertaining experience.
A Quiz Tailored to You
Each user encountered eight interactive questions that changed dynamically based on their responses. Drawing on a century of film and television titles, genres, and visuals, the quiz experience personalized itself around each answer. Horror fans encountered more horror-themed options, while those drawn to 80s films saw more nostalgia-driven choices.
Share Your Story
After exploring Columbia’s rich history and completing the quiz, visitors received a personalized shareable asset generated automatically. This shareable, along with a variety of social media sharing options, played a crucial role in maintaining excitement and engagement throughout the campaign.
An Extra Touch of You
Before sharing the generated content, visitors could further personalize it using an editing tool. This allowed users to add their favorite sidekick or title, showcasing hidden gems and films they might have missed.
Spreading the Celebration
To expand awareness and reach, WATSON.LA and EXO APE collaborated with various Sony IPs. From the Spiderverse to Jumanji, these iconic properties shared their own personalized content with their followers, driving traffic back to the main experience.
